Welcome to U21 / HKU International Symposium on Forensic Odontology and Disaster Victim Identification

Invitation from the Organising Committee

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to come to the U21/HKU International Symposium on Forensic Odontology and Disaster Victim Identification in Hong Kong. The Congress will be held on 29th and 30th September 2007.

Forensic Odontology has been a fast growing field in recent years, especially after the unexpectedly natural disasters in SE Asia which killed thousands of lives. We have organised this symposium in order to bring forensic experts in the region to come and share their experience. We have invited Dr David Sweet, Deputy Chair (Science), Interpol DVI standing Committee and Dorte Hougaard of PlassData, DVI International to present the latest DVI protocols and DVI software from Interpol. This is the first time that these protocols are being discussed in SE Asia and we hope we can gather the opinions from the users in this part of the world. We have also invited Prof John Clement from Melbourne to share with us about the future training of forensic odontologists.

We are also honored to have a chance to invite those forensic odontologists working in the military and law enforcement agencies to come and share their experience in an academic environment. We also hope this international symposium will provide a platform for the DVI experts in the region to meet and hence enrich future collaboration.

You are cordially invited to attend and present papers. Details of the meeting can be found in this web page. We look forward to sharing your ideas and experience.
